Meet the team

Julie Wood

Managing Director

Julie began her career as a youth and disability worker in 2012 working for large corporations. During that time, she realised the participants were not receiving the care they deserved. She believed there was a huge injustice to participants and felt that they should have complete choice and control over what support and services they wanted. She created Ethical Support Services to ensure participants received the care they deserved.

Julie’s qualifications

  • Cert IV Child, Youth and Family Support (Early Intervention)
  • Diploma Youth Justice
  • Diploma Community Services (case management)

Kelly

Hi I’m Kelly

Over the past 16 years I have worked and volunteered in many community service roles including working with children, aged and disability support. I am also a carer, and have lived experience of ASD, ADHD, dementia and mental health, and have a true understanding of the sorts of challenges faced with each of these. Currently I work behind the scenes in the admin role with the lovely team at ESS.

Outside of work and caring, I can usually be found at home listening to music and taking over the kitchen table creating something – usually painting or jewellery making, but it could be any number of other art or craft projects I feel like trying! At other times, when I’m not hanging out with my cats and birds (or any other animal that wants to be my friend), I make time to practice mindfulness and to get out into nature, either gardening, hiking, beach walks or finding walking trails. Time with friends and family is important to me, and I especially love seeing my kids (both adults) and chatting with my nanna.
